It was announced yesterday that President Obama approved Governor Terry Branstad’s request for a Presidential Disaster Declaration. The declaration covers 19 counties in the state, including Iowa, Johnson and Keokuk, for damage received from severe weather that occurred between April 17th and April 30th. The declaration provides federal funding to the counties under the Public Assistance Program for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the storms.
