The Demons girls basketball team started their season with a road win over Ottumwa. The Demons won 69-55. As a team Demons Head Coach Phil Long says they hit 10 three pointers, only committed 6 turnovers and out rebounded Ottumwa 33-10. Long says one troubling stat is they went 13-38 from the free throw line, but he was pleased they put up 69-points in their first game. Individually, Cassey Sobaski led the way with 22 points, Lucy Libe had 15, Greta Smeins had 11, and Sydney Greiner finished with 9. The Demons will next have their home opener Tuesday against Mid-Priaire.
