Multiple Washington Seniors received academic accolades during the annual awards night honoring the 2026 graduating class. 

Advanced Placement English Award recipients include Zully Aranda Terrones, Iris Dahl, Luna Morris, Keven Raymundo, Aiden Rogers, Callie Schiebel, and Lianna Wyrick. The AP Literature and Composition class consists of vigorous college-level course work and a final written exam. The recipients received a medal and a golden feather. 

The other academic award presented that evening was the golden calculator award. This award is given to the students who complete every available math class including algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2, pre-calculus, calculus, and statistics offered through Kirkwood. Each student must have received an A- grade or better in each of those terms. The recipients of the golden calculator awards include Angeline Anderson, Maya Bruty, Adalyn Long, Taylor Miksch, and Andrew Rees. 

The Washington Senior Awards Ceremony was held on May 12th. Graduation is this Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
