The Highland Huskies baseball team started the season off right Monday with a 2-0 road win at Calamus-Wheatland. Senior Bryce Hazelett opened his final campaign with the red and white in style. He was a perfect four of four at the plate with four base-hits, stole four bases, with an RBI and a run scored. Garrett Beeson added a base-hit and drove in one. Landon Roling had a single. Brock Nebergall scored the other run. On the other side, the Highland staff was superb with Hazelett allowing no runs, and just one hit through the four innings of his start with two walks and eight strikeouts. Roling followed him to slam the door with three more scoreless frames to preserve the shut out, no hits allowed and three punch-outs. The Huskies stand at 1-0 on the year, while the Warriors drop to 0-1.
