The Sigourney girls golf team did what they needed to do Friday at the First Round Class 1A Regional at BGM. The top three teams were on their way to the next round, and the Savages claimed that third spot with their group score 389. The home Bears won on their course with a 356 and North Mahaska was second with 369. Ella Bruns was the Sigourney leader at 92. Kayla Renner broke the century-mark at 99, Adalynne Tremmel shot 100, Clara Hanselman 104, and Ella Fineran 110. The Savages improve their overall record to 27-11. They will play today at North Mahaska in the 1A Regional final for a bid to the state tournament.
