In the final showing of the regular season for Washington boys soccer, the Demons couldn’t overcome a slow start in the first half, falling to the Clear Creek Amana Clippers 4-2 on Friday.
The Clippers fired off three first-half goals, taking a quick lead that the Demons wouldn’t be able to surpass. Despite that, Washington still made an effort in the second half, putting two in the back of the netwhile allowing one more Clipper goal.
Joseph Schreiber and Ben Kronlage scored for the Demons, with Kronlage assisting on Schreiber’s goal as well. The Demons drop to 5-8-2 this season, while CCA improves to 8-2-3. Washington next turns its attention to the post season. The team has received the fourth seed in the Class 2A Substate 4 bracket, and will face the fifth seed, Central Dewitt. The Sabers are 1-15-1 this season.
