The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls golf team stayed hot to start the playoffs, winning the team championship at the First Round Class 2A Regional at Mediapolis. Mid-Prairie’s team number was 378, 18 shots ahead of second place Centerville. The Hawks swept the medals with Olivia Swartzendruber the individual champion at 11-over-par 84 and Morgyn Bender right behind her as runner-up with an 85. Other Mid-Prairie scores included Macie Ihrig 100, Paiton Chittick 109, Delani Blum 110, and Noelle Nelson 117. The victory advances Mid-Prairie to the Class 2A regional final on their home course in Kalona Wednesday. The Golden Hawks have a 44-6 overall record.
