The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls soccer teams hosted perennial power Dyersville-Beckman Friday night at the Wellman Rotary Soccer Fields. The Golden Hawk girls opened the night with a 1-1 draw against No. 10 in 1A Beckman. Each team got their goal in the first half with Avery Helmuth beating the Blazers for the Hawks, her fourth of the year, and Ava Burkle supplying the offense for Beckman. The second 40 minutes belonged to the defenses with no action on the scoreboard. The Blazers won shots on goal 14-4 and corner kicks 5-4. Niva Helmuth had 12 saves for Mid-Prairie, Lilly Kreeb six for the Blazers. Mid-Prairie is now 10-4-1 while Beckman moves to 9-1-1.

The nightcap was a 2-2 stalemate. Each team got a goal in each half, leaving the game a 1-1 tie at half. The Blazers won shots on goal 11-6, Mid-Prairie took corners 3-2. Golden Hawk goals came from Caedyn Huston and Will Snider, each their first of the year, while Mac Yoder made 13 saves to preserve the tie. Jack Wessels scored both Blazer goals and Oscar Herbers made a pair of saves. The result pushes Mid-Prairie to 4-8-3 and Beckman to 6-4-3.
