Columbus Community School District has announced the hiring of Steven Green as the next Roundy Elementary School principal, starting next school year.
The decision to hire Green came following a special board meeting of the Columbus School Board on May 7th. Green brings two decades of educational experience to the position, and he has taught and served in administrative roles in both rural and urban settings.
In a statement released by the district, Green says his goal for his new role will be to support all teachers and support staff, while continuing positive things already put in place. Green received his BA in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Iowa, before earning a Master’s Degree from Olivet Nazarene University in Education with an emphasis in curriculum, as well as his Administration from Dordt University.
Green will be moving from Orange City, Iowa, with his wife, Molly. He will begin his new role at Roundy Elementary starting in July.
