
The Keota Eagle boys and girls track and field teams took on the field at Packwood in the Pekin Panther’s Senior Night meet Thursday.
The Eagle boys were fifth of nine schools with 38 points. Pekin won their home meet with 120 points. Keota had one boys championship event, with Ayden Galindo winning the high jump at six feet. Runner-up events included Galindo in the long jump and Hunter Grandstaff in the 800 and 3200. Rowen Horning was third in the 400, so was Grandstaff in the mile. The Eagle 4×200 team of Blake Baker, Galindo, Dacin Redlinger and Luke Moeller and the sprint medley with Baker, Galindo, Rowen Horning and Moeller were third. Moeller was fourth in the 200 and fifth in long jump.
The Keota girls placed sixth of nine schools with 12 points. North Mahaska was the team winner with 130.5 points. The Eagle sprint medley was a winner in 2:01.41 with the team of Kaylee Kindred, Zoey Sieren and Olivia and Elyse Lyle. Olivia Lyle was second in the 200 and third in the 100. Sieren was third in the 200, Elyse Lyle third in the 400 and third for the 4×200 with Karley Greiner, Elyse Lyle, Jaylah Redlinger and Emily Moeller. In fourth it was Sieren in the 100, Mia Conrad in the 800, Kennedy Jackson in the discus and the 4×100 team with Kindred, Sieren, Redlinger and Olivia Lyle. Elyse Lyle was fifth in long jump.
