Starting Monday, April 20th, a portion of W61, or 12th Street, north of Washington will be closed for construction.
This closure will allow the contractor to continue the final phase of work to pave a four-foot-wide portion of the shoulders from East 15th Street in Washington, north to G36 (220th Street). The final phase will consist of placing the new paved shoulders along with new shoulder rock. Work is expected to be completed within two weeks, weather permitting.
Throughout the final phase of this project, W61 will be open to thru traffic, but traffic will be restricted to one lane while the contractor is working. Pilot cars and flaggers will be used to help facilitate the flow of traffic through the work zone, which will change daily as the contractor progresses through the project.
If you need to travel within the project limits, you are encouraged to allow for extra time to reach your destination, use caution when traveling through the work zone and obey all directions from the contractor.
