
Several area teams sent delegations to compete at the Eastern Iowa Track and Field Festival in Iowa City last Saturday.
Mid-Prairie sent a large group of both boys and girls to compete. For the girls, Jeorgia Evans placed first in the 100m with a time of 12.42. The relay team of Myli Hershberger, Kyrie Poll, Jeorgia Evans, and Jovi Evans placed third in the 800m sprint medley. That same team placed fourth in the 4x200m. Jovi Evans also placed fourth in the 100m. Fifth place finishers included Kendal Landstrum in the 3000m, and Jeorgia Evans in the long jump. Brooklyn Stutzman finished sixth in the 3000m and 14th in the 1500m. Harper Pacha placed eighth in the shot put and ninth in the discus throw. Rachel Hostetler placed 12th in the 3000m and 15th in the 800m. Tessa Brokaw placed 12th in the 800m.
For the Mid-Prairie boys, leaders included Ryan Henry with a third place finish in the 100m, Thomas Lueck with a third place finish in the long jump, and the team of Oliver Miller, Kendrick Kos, Nolan Jergens and Henry placed third in the 4x200m relay. Henry placed fourth in the 200m. Tommy Miller finished fifth in the shot put. Kaden Kos placed sixth in the discus throw. The team of Henry, Kendrick Kos, Jergens, and Cecil Kelley finished eighth in the 4x100m relay. Joshua Turner finished ninth in the shot put. Oliver Miller, Kendrick Kos, Jergens, and Morgan Northup took tenth in the 4x400m relay. Kendrick Kos, Lueck, Oliver Miller, and Carson Humphrey placed 11th in the 4x110m shuttle hurdle. Humphrey placed 12th in the 110m hurdles, and Max Swartzentruber finished 18th in the 3200m.
For the Demons of Washington, the 4x400m relay team of Lauren Drahota, Leighton Messinger, Jaedyn Moore, and Iris Dahl led the way with a third place finish, coming just shy of the school record. Dahl placed fourth in the 1500m. The team of Jaslyn Villa, Moore, Leighton Salazar, and Messinger finished fifth in the 4x100m relay. Moore placed 11th in the 100m.
The Ravens of Hillcrest sent several girls to compete. The relay team of Adia Scott, Niva Helmuth, Karina Bourha, and Rya Scott placed fourth in the 4x100m and sixth in the 4x200m. In addition, Rya and Adia Scott both completed in the 100m, with Rya placing fifth and Adia Scott 19th. Siena Stanerson placed 15th in the 3000m, and Helmuth placed 23rd in the shot put.
The Highland girls sent two athletes to compete in four events. Alexa Hahn placed sixth overall in the 400m and seventh in the long jump. Maiya Singbeil placed tenth in the high jump and 15th in the 400m hurdles.
Lone Tree sent a relay team of Addison McCullough, Ava Christofferson, Lindsay Baltzar, and Jazmine Nino to compete in the distance medley. The team finished 13th. Christofferson completed in two additional events, finishing 12th in the long jump and finishing 17th in the 100m.
The Columbus girls sent Kaylee McCullough to compete in discus throw. She finished 14th.
