Take steps to prevent the spread of illness as influenza and strep cases rise in the local area.

Strep throat cases are currently rated ‘very high’ in Washington County. Washington County Hospital and Clinics provides a weekly respiratory illness snapshot for the community and strep cases have remained elevated. 

The community continues to see high activity for respiratory illnesses. There were reported cases of COVID-19 with RSV being moderate. Influenza A and B cases are currently rated very high. 

People are reminded to wash their hands often with soap and water, and remember to cover coughs and sneezes. If you are feeling unwell, stay home. The Centers for Disease Control recommends people over six months old to get a flu vaccine annually with the vaccine helping to reduce the severity of illness.
