A public open house is set this week to discuss the City of Washington Parks Master Plan.
In August, the City of Washington entered into an agreement with planning and engineering firm Bolton and Menk to complete the Parks Master Plan. Over the past several months, the consultant has completed a parks inventory and held a variety of public engagement activities. The findings from the information gathering stage are now being converted into a draft implementation plan.
To discuss the results, common themes, and next steps, a public open house will be held on Thursday, December 11th, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Fire Training Room at Washington City Hall. A short presentation will start at 5:45 p.m. The consultant and City staff will be present to answer questions and gather feedback from the public before and after the presentation.
Following the open house, the consultant will finalize the plan for presentation to the City Council in January 2026. The document will then be used for financial planning of parks capital projects over the next several years.
