After a strong season on the course and in the classroom, a pair of Washington runners were honored by the Iowa Association of Track Coaches with spots on the Class 3A Cross Country Academic All-State list.
Senior Demons Andrew Rees and Iris Dahl were both elected Academic All-State. Rees finished 18th in the boys race with a time of 16:22 and Dahl was 20th in the girls championship event in 19:16.
To qualify, an athlete must be a senior, have a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or higher and finish in the top 30 at their State Qualifier meet or run at State.
