The Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra is hosting a Kids Symphony with a Halloween theme this Sunday.
Kids and parents can wear their Halloween costumes to the concert and take time to meet the performers and their instruments. There will be a costume photo booth, snacks and prizes. The concert will feature music from John Williams. Performing Arts Series Board President Millie Youngquist shares more on the event, “We’re excited because they are coming to Washington, to give a kids concert. Now this is a shorter concert with music from movies, Superman, ET, [and] Star Wars. And Bob Mcconnell is the conductor and he is a Washington, Iowa, native.”
This 45-minute concert is a good fit for kids of all ages. The concert will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Washington Area Performing Arts and Events Center at the high school. Tickets may only be purchased at the door. Adults are $5, kids through college-age and season ticket holders for the Performing Arts Series can attend for free.
