The HUB in Brighton is hosting an informational meeting for Washington County voters on Monday about the upcoming ballot referendum which would make EMS an essential service within the county.
The referendum would bring Washington County in line with 21 other counties across the state in making EMS an essential service and would authorize an up-to 75 cent increase on the county’s tax rate. In Brighton, the tax increase would primarily be used to recruit and train new volunteers for the Brighton First Responders.
The meeting will be held in the Brighton City Hall Community Room and is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
