
A railroad crossing in Ainsworth will be closed for repairs beginning at noon on Tuesday. According to the Washington County Engineer’s Office, weather-permitting, the CPKC railroad will be closing Old Military Road, also known as Underwood Avenue.
CPKC will complete their work Thursday. The first phase will include replacing the grade crossing and resetting the railroad track.
Following that, starting on Monday, October 27th, the crossing will be closed for up to two weeks for additional work. All American Concrete will be doing the second phase which includes replacing short sections of the concrete to ensure a smooth transition to the crossing.
The crossing will be closed to all traffic. A detour will direct traffic to use the 3rd Street rail crossing.
