
Lone Tree Elementary School received a “high performing” score on this year’s school performance profile, while the middle/high school received a grade of commendable.
As a district, Lone Tree was above average in 14 of the 15 metrics measured by the profile.
The district’s 9% chronic absenteeism rate was over 6% below the state average, while its 90% four-year graduation rate was slightly ahead of the state. The district was ahead of the curve in test scores across all three testing categories, english and language arts, math and science, as well as growth rates on state testing. The 93% of Lions graduating with college credit was over 20% ahead of the state average.
The district’s only metric behind the state was work-based learning, with about 30% of students participating in work-based learning programs at Lone Tree compared to 45% of students across the state.
At the elementary school, Lone Tree shattered its goals of 80% proficiency in ELA and math, with 83.5% of students proficient in ELA and 91.8% of students proficient in math. Science scores were below average at the elementary level at 62.5% proficiency, while growth rates were a mixed bag with ELA growth in the 46th percentile and math in the 63rd percentile.
At Lone Tree Middle-Senior High School, test scores were slightly below average in ELA and math. Nearly 73% of Lions in grades 6-12 were proficient in ELA, about a point below the state average, while 63.64% were proficient in math, about seven points below average. Math growth was slightly below average at the high school level in the 48th percentile, while ELA growth rate was above average in the 55th percentile. Science scores beat the state average by over five percentage points at 72.55%.
