The Washington County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit hosted a cornhole tournament fundraiser at Vista Park in Kalona on Saturday. The Washington County Riverboat Foundation presented a $10,000 surprise grant during the festivities on Saturday. This inaugural event was an opportunity for Washington County to come together to raise funds for a new K9 dog for Deputy Ethan Hansen. All proceeds raised go directly to the K9 fund, covering the purchase of the dog,veterinary care, local and regional training, and ongoing expenses with maintaining a working K9 for the Sheriff’s Office. 

The department looks to make this an annual fundraiser to support ongoing expenses for the unit.
