The Washington Public Library will be hosting a free Great Gatsby Night in October, and registration will open Monday.
Technology Librarian Beth Swift shares what can be expected, “The Great Gatsby as you know, is based on the Roaring Twenties, and so we are going to copy that and so you can dress up in your flapper dresses. We do want people to read up on the Great Gatsby, because when we are done with the party then we are going to go in and have a trivia night. So you want to know the book. So if you are really competitive and you want to win the event, I’d really suggest rereading the book. It should be a lot of fun. You can come as a single, you can come as a group, it’s fine. The trivia game you can have a group of one, two, three or four. So it’s not just all on you if you don’t want it to be.”
This adult-only event will feature finger foods, mocktails, live music and a trivia competition. Interested participants can find more information on the Washington Public Library website, or by visiting the Library.
