A Louisa County family has received the Wergin Good Farm Neighbor Award, the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship announced on Wednesday.

The Gieselman family, owner of PaSa Farms, named after owners Paul and Sarah Gieselman, are being honored by Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig at the Iowa State Fair. Paul and Sarah operate the farm with their children, August, Benjamin and Capp, as well as Paul’s father, Wayne, and employee Clint Walker. The family has owned the farm since 1955.

Paul is also a leader among corn farmers in the state. Currently, he is the Vice Chair of the Iowa Corn Promotion Board and serves as its Vice Chair of Research and Business Development Committee. He also works as a delegate to the U.S. Grains Council Asia Team and a voting delegate to the National Corn Growers Association. He is a graduate of Iowa Corn’s I-LEAD Program.

The Wergin Good Farm Neighbor Award is in its 21st year.
