Washington County voters will decide on a tax levy regarding funds for emergency medical services this November. A resolution to set the date for an election on the imposition of certain taxes for Emergency Medical Services in Washington County was approved at the Washington Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday.  

According to the resolution, the question of a property tax levy for Washington County EMS will be on the ballot on November 4th. The levy will be at a rate not to exceed 75 cents per $1,000 of assessed value on all taxable property within the County for a period of 15 years to be used for the purpose of funding Emergency Medical Services in Washington County. The rate for the first year shall be set at 50 cents per $1,000 of assessed value on all taxable property within Washington County. 

If approved, the EMS Property Tax shall be imposed beginning July of 2026-July of 2041.
