The Kalona City Council will meet on Monday, with agricultural vehicle parking and a potential community visioning project set to be the main topics of discussion.

The council meeting will open with a second reading of an ordinance restricting where agricultural vehicles such as tractors and harvesters can drive and park within Kalona. The proposed change restricts parking in the area between 4th Street, 6th Street, A Avenue and D Avenue. It restricts driving in that area for agricultural vehicles on 5th Street, B Avenue, C Avenue and any alleyways in the area.

The council will conclude its meeting by considering the approval of an application to and approving a steering committee for the Iowa Living Roadways Community Visionary Program, which provides small Iowa communities with the planning and design resources to improve transportation.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in the Kalona Community Center.
