The season came to an end for Washington Demons baseball Saturday with an 18-0 loss to Davenport Assumption in the Class 3A Substate 5 quarterfinals. Washington allowed two runs in each of the first two innings, but it was the 14 runs that Assumption put on the board in the third that would end the game early

After the game, Demons head coach T.J. Rausch told KCII Sports that he was grateful for his departing graduates, saying “Our seniors will be missed. They did things the right way, and, as a coach, you can’t ask for more.”

The season wraps up for Washington with a record of 4-23. The Demons will lose four seniors from this year’s roster, including Nate Edmonds, Conner Leyden, Luke Schiebel and Cole Vetter.
