
School may be out, but the Mid-Prairie Future Farmers of America have remained active into the summer months.
In June, members of the organization travelled to a livestock judging competition and assisted the city of West Chester in its cleanup process.
The West Chester cleanup took place on June 8, when members Brock Fisher, Conner O’Rourke, Jason Yoder, Ellie Callahan, Harlee West, Stella Janecek, Rylee Cady, Cuyler Rourke, Brynn Northup, Madelyn Sieren and Allie Whetstine helped mulch, improve decorations, and clean up public areas in the city.
On June 10, four members of the group travelled to Kirkwood Community College for the Southeast District Livestock Contest: Charlotte Sieren, Destina Moyle, Jason Yoder and Adelyn Huston. Huston, as a district officer, assisted in running the event.
Sieren took 2nd place as an individual, while the team of Sieren, Moyle and Yoder placed 10th overall.
