The countdown is on for the Washington County Fair, with only 11 days left for preparations, Washington County 4-H Extension is preparing for Kids Day at the Fair. 

Kids Day will be held Wednesday, July 16. This day is hosted by Washington County Extension and Outreach and the Washington County Fair. This year’s theme is race to the fair. 

The morning will kick off at 9:30 a.m. with a variety of hands-on activities all over the fairgrounds. All pre-school through fifth grade kids are welcome to participate. There will be community displays at the Lions Stage. There will also be activity stations available anytime throughout the morning until 11 a.m. Popcorn will be provided, courtesy of the Washington Lions Club.

Join the Horse and Pony Club for games at the Horse Barn. Pony rides will be available and are sponsored by Farm Bureau Financial Services the Ann C. Williams Agency.

Other kids’ activities throughout the day include: Little Hands on the Farm hosted by Washington County Extension’s Agriculture in the Classroom. Visit the Grand Concourse for an archery demo put on by the Bows & Bullets 4-H club. The Poultry Barn will be open at 9 a.m. for the rooster crowing contest.
