A Winfield man admitted to possession of methamphetamine following a traffic stop on Sunday. According to the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 92 and Highway 70 due to a stop sign violation. During the stop, K9 Dino indicated narcotics. The driver was 40-year old Matthew Foster of Winfield.

Baggies of methamphetamine and smoking devices were found in the vehicle by deputies.

Foster was arrested for second offense possession of methamphetamine, an aggravated misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. He has a previous conviction of methamphetamine in February of this year.

He was taken to the Louisa County Jail.
