
Three teams and one individual in the KCII listening area will compete in the state golf tournament next week.
Washington’s Drew Conrad will compete at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls next Tuesday and Wednesday as the area’s only qualifier in Class 3A. He is ranked 18th in the class.
The Sigourney and Hillcrest Academy boys’ teams will both travel to the South Hills Golf Course in Waterloo on Tuesday and Wednesday to compete in the Class 1A tournament. As a team, Sigourney is ranked No. 2 in the class. All six members of Sigourney’s varsity lineup are ranked at a state level and they include: Solon Yates, Jordan Tremmel, Ike Molyneux, Cain Weber, Isaac Bruns, and Josh Wyatt.
The Ravens are returning three members from their 2023 undefeated state championship team in Liam Schrock, Rowan Miller, and Ethan Yoder. Schrock also won the individual district championship. The team will also compete in the Class 1A tournament.
The Highland girls’ team will head to the American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown on Thursday and Friday to compete in the Class 1A girls tournament. The Huskies boast the top two performers from the Southeast Iowa Superconference in Emersyn Schultz and Adisyn Prottsman, who took the individual gold and silver at this year’s Superconference championship.
