
Washington County’s unemployment rate fell from March to April according to Iowa Workforce Development. In March, Washington County’s unemployment rate was 3.1% and it fell to 2.4% in April. Compared to one year ago, Washington County’s unemployment rate was 1.7% in April of 2024.
Current figures show the State of Iowa’s unemployment rate was 3.5% in April.
Last month, the county with the highest unemployment in the state was Marshall County at 5.8% and there was a two-way tie at the lowest rate of 2.2% in Sioux and Osceola counties.
