The Wellman City Council is set to meet on Monday, with two public hearings on their agenda.

A public hearing to amend the 2024-2025 budget to align with actual costs rather than the initial projections is scheduled. Also scheduled is a public hearing on bids for the proposed sale of 818 10th Avenue, a dilapidated house currently owned by the city.

Discussion on fence and hedge regulations, which have been had at each of the past two meetings, are expected to continue. Currently, fences on a property line require both neighbors sign an agreement that must be filed with the county recorder before being built. The council has discussed amending the ordinance to remove that requirement, and City Administrator Kelly Litwell said at the council’s May 5th meeting that the amendment was in the process of being written with help from the city’s attorney

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.
