The Kalona City Council’s second meeting of May is set for Monday, with discussion set to continue on rezoning and utility rate changes.

Second hearings are expected for a conditional rezone in Southtown for a restaurant, retail space, and short-term cabins at 2254 133rd Street, as well as for water and sewer rate increases over the next three years.

A public hearing is also scheduled to amend the 2024-2025 budget to align with actual costs rather than the projections the city used to set the initial budget.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Kalona Community Center.
