The resignation, release, and settlement agreement of former Keota Superintendent and High School Principal Lisa Brenneman outlines the compensation she’ll be receiving and the terms moving forward. At their May 8th school board meeting, a “resignation/settlement” was approved unanimously. The resignation went into effect the same day.

Per the signed agreement, Brenneman will continue to receive pay and benefits under her contract through June 30th. She will also be paid for 20 accrued and unused professional days and vacation days. She will also receive two additional months of compensation.

One paragraph in the agreement reads, “Brenneman acknowledges and requests, by her approval and execution of this Agreement, that any discussion by the District’s Board of Directors concerning this Agreement will be in the context of a closed or executive session, which she does specifically herein request and acknowledge, pursuant to Iowa” code.

The agreement was signed by Brenneman on May 7th, a day before the school board meeting.

The total amount for the compensation payment is being calculated by district staff and KCII will provide more information as it becomes official.
