The Washington Demons rolled to a 4-0 victory over conference rival Keokuk in girls’ soccer last night at Washington Wellness Park. Angeline Anderson scored her seventh goal of the season in the first five minutes of the match, and the Demons were just getting started.
Fellow senior Ana Mata would bury a penalty kick for Washington, while senior Maya Murphy scored her sixth goal of the spring on an assist from junior Luna Cuevas and junior Jocci Carter took a deep punt from senior goalkeeper Kate Flannery and punched it in for her sixth goal of the season as well.
With the win, the Demons finish Southeast Conference play with a record of 4-6 and improve to 7-7 overall. Washington next plays Thursday when they host the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks.
