The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk athletic department has a slate tonight that includes soccer and golf action. The Golden Hawk boys and girls will take the pitch in Wellman and Kalona respectively tonight against River Valley Conference foe Tipton. The Golden Hawk boys stand at 1-6-1 this year after a 5-0 Friday loss at Anamosa. On the season, the Hawks have been outscored 31-7 in total with 38 shots on goal, 21 corner kicks, four assists and a 71% team save percentage. Individually, Kale Miller is the leader with three goals while Peyton Fox, Will Snider, Ty Huber and Adrian Sanchez Reyes each have one assist. In goal, Jacob Flynn has 46 saves.

Tipton is 5-2-1 this year after their 3-1 win over Prince of Peace on the road Friday. This year, The Tigers are outscoring their opponents 26-15 with 95 shots on goal, 21 assists and an 88% team save percentage. Individually, Oakley Kruse has eight goals, Jayson Johnson nine assists and Carter Hermiston 83 saves. Mid-Prairie has won all four meetings between the two schools including 2-1 last year. Action starts tonight at 5p.m. At the Wellman Rotary Soccer Fields.

It’s a special presentation of Golden Hawk girls soccer at Hillcrest Academy tonight when the Hawks host the Tigers. Mid-Prairie is 3-5-1 this season after a 2-0 loss to Anamosa Friday night. The Hawks have been outscored 21-19 this season with 67 shots on goal, 33 corner kicks, nine assists and a 79% team save percentage. Individually, Meadow Flynn is the leader with six goals, Lydia Beachy, Brooklyn Schneider and Zoey Curtiss each have two assists and in goal Niva Helmuth has 53 saves. Tipton is 3-4-0 this year. They beat Northeast Goose Lake last time out. This season, they have been outscored 24-10 with 68 shots on goal and a 79% team save percentage. Individually, Kennedy Daufeldt has nine goals, Koda Fogg, Paityn Daedlow and Storm Snyder each have one assist and Braxlyn Ehlers 89 saves. Mid-Prairie has won all four meetings between the two schools including a 2-1 victory last season. This will also serve as a Senior Night contest for the Golden Hawks who will honor Zoey Curtiss, Lydia Beachy, Kyla Karnes and Rita Du. Action starts tonight at 5p.m. At Hillcrest Academy.

The Golden Hawk golf teams take on Wilton tonight. The Mid-Prairie girls are 17-2 this year after winning their home tournament Thursday with a 379 overall score on 18, led by Morgyn Bender’s 91. On the year, the Hawks have a 190 average on nine and 383 on 18, led by Addison English at 45 on nine and Bender at 91 on 18. Wilton is 4-15 this year, They were seventh at Mid-Prairie’s tournament last week with a 474 team score led by Lily Thompson’s 109. This year, the Beavers have a 245 team average on nine and 475 on 18. Individually, Thompson is the leader on nine and 18 at 54 and 114 respectively. Mid-Prairie won this event last year 198-213.

The Mid-Prairie boys enter play with an 18-11 overall mark after a fourth place finish at the Williamsburg Raider Invitational last Wednesday, where they shot a team score 336 on 18, led by Grayson Gingerich at 82. On the year, the Golden Hawks have a 167 team average on nine and 342 mark on 18, led individually by Clayton Davidson and Denver Nelson each at 41 on nine and Grayson Gingerich and Bryce Henry 86 on 18. Wilton is 11-9 this season. They were sixth at the Durant Invitational in their last action with Ben Garvin the leader at 87. This season, the Beavers have a 181 team average on nine and 353 on 18, keyed by Garvin at 44 and 82 on nine and 18 respectively. Mid-Prairie won this matchup a season ago 167-196. Action in both meets starts at 4p.m. This evening with the boys at Wilton and the girls at Kalona.
