Three people were taken by ambulance to the hospital following a fire near Riverside on Sunday. According to the Washington County Safety Center, at 4:59 p.m. dispatch received a call from Riverside Fire Department officials that an ambulance was needed to check on a couple of firemen. The fire department was responding to an out of control burn about nine miles south of Riverside city limits.

A Washington County Ambulance transported two patients to the University of Iowa Hospital. A second Washington County Ambulance took a single patient to the University of Iowa.
