Above average temperatures over the last week have set the table for the possibility of severe weather Friday in the KCII listening area. The National Weather Service Quad Cities office has the southeast portion of Washington county, all of Henry, Louisa and Jefferson counties at four out of five, or a moderate risk for severe weather, while the rest of the KCII listening area is listed as three out of five, or an enhanced risk. The storm forecast shows the most likely time for severe weather is from 5-11 p.m. Friday. The greatest risk is from damaging winds up to 80mph with tornadoes possible. Due to warm temperatures and strong winds that will accompany the system, fire danger is also elevated with a Wind Advisory in effect Friday. Listen to KCII for up-to-the-minute severe weather coverage from the KCII Severe Weather Action Team.
