Southeast Iowa’s best sharpshooters were on display Saturday at the Demon Den when the Washington Archery Club hosted their annual December tournament.

In the bullseye contest, the high school Demons were team runners-up with 3243, behind Marion’s 3246. Individually, Blaine Hodson was seventh in the boys contest with a score of 278 and 14 tens. Mt.Vernon’s Nathan Nederhiser was the winner at 287. For the Washington girls, Hannah Lipski was seventh with a 277 and 14 tens, followed by Ryan Pepper in 10th. Van Buren’s Audrey Smith was the individual champion with 281.

The middle school Demons took the title with a 3116, ahead of second place Mid-Prairie’s 3091. The Washington boys were led by Hunter Barnes’s 277 with 14 tens for third. He was followed by Jordan Thorius sixth, Tristen Heisdorffer eighth and Caleb Wise ninth. For the girls, Lilith Hernandez was third with a 266 and seven tens, Bella Venenga was sixth. Serenity Robards of Mt. Vernon was the individual winner with 270.

The Lincoln Demons swept all three championships, winning the team chase with a 2681. Individual boys champion was Jayse Thomas with a 255 and nine tens. He was followed by Louis Mejia third, Grayson Frost fifth, Lawson DeWolf sixth, Logan Hotchkiss seventh, Keegan Boshart ninth and Clark Marsden 10th. For the girls, Aly Black was the winner with a 250 and four tens, followed by Kaylee McFarland runner-up and Zoey Marner fourth.

In 3D, the Washington high schoolers won the title with a 1624, ahead of Marion’s 1595. Hannah Lipski was the individual girls champ with a 284 and 16 tens. She was followed by Sophie Wittmayer second, Johannah Halvorson fifth and Charlee Read 10th. For the boys, Ethan Hotchkiss was fourth at 271 with 11 tens and Jace Sanders was sixth. Ryker Lee of Mt. Vernon was the winner at 281.

The middle school Demons were second at 1524. Lilith Hernandez won the individual girls championship with a 264 and ten 10s. Bella Venenga was third and Harley Venenga 10th. Hunter Barnes led the boys in sixth with a 260 and ten 10s, followed by Jordan Thorius eighth and Tristen Heisdorffer 10th.

The Lincoln Demons were team champions at 1253. Kaylee McFarland was individual girls champion at 231 with five 10s. She was followed by Chloe Entsminger third, Addison Carpenter sixth, Faelyn Lee eighth, Harper Horn ninth and Baylor Stromwall 10th. For the boys, Logan Hotchkiss was runner-up at 225 with three 10s. He was followed by Jayse Thorius third, Louis Mejia fourth, Grayson Frost sixth, Kooper Barnes seventh, Lawson DeWolf eighth and Aden Glaspie 10th.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks also competed at Washington. In Bullseye, the high school Hawks were third as a team at 3225. They were led individually on the girls side by Lael Seale as runner-up with a 280 and 13 tens, followed by Morgan Nafziger fifth. Elijah Statler led the boys in fifth with a 281 and 15 tens.

The middle schoolers were runners-up with a 3091. Top boys performance was runner-up for Nolan Mohling with a 278 and 15 tens. He was followed by Landon Allen fourth, Braxton Ropp fifth and Noah Coblentz seventh. For the girls, Mya Brenneman was ninth at 256 with seven tens.

The elementary Golden Hawks were second in the team race at 2366. Samuel Newton led the boys as runner-up with a 251 and seven 10s. Levi Coblentz was fourth. For the girls, Ellie Rand was third with a 236 and four tens. Monica Beachy was fifth, Zayley Jaspering eighth, Josie Miller ninth and Jenna Puttmann 10th.

In 3D, the high school Hawks were third of five teams at 1594 with Elijah Statler placing third on the boys side with a 277 and 17 tens. Girls leader was Sophia Puttmann fourth with a 271 and 12 tens. Lael Seale was fifth.

The middle school Hawks won the team title with a 1563. Noah Coblentz was the boys champ firing a 278 and 15 tens. Other top tens included Landon Allen third, Joshua Seale fourth, Braxton Ropp fifth and Beckett Miller ninth. For the girls, Kylee Berry was fifth at 249 and 11 tens. Mya Brenneman was sixth and Lara Brenneman seventh.

The elementary Hawks saw Samuel Newton win the boys championship with a 226 and six tens. Levi Coblentz was fifth. For the girls, Monica Beachy was runner-up at 176 with a ten, followed by Brielle Robertson fourth and Jenna Puttmann fifth.
