A power outage due to a substation failure with Alliant Energy left area towns without power on Tuesday morning. The cities of Wellman, Keota, Kalona, Riverside, and Lone Tree all experienced outages while Alliant worked to reroute power. There were nearly 1800 reported outages in the area at 9 a.m. Tuesday. The power was restored shortly after the outages were reported.
