The Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves and WACO Warriors are slated to battle on the football field on September 8. Leading up to that night, both schools and communities are having a little competition of their own for a good cause.

For the next week, the Wayland and Winfield branches of the Wayland State Bank are collecting items and donations for their hometown food pantries. The branch which collects the most is the winner. To raise the stakes, both principals are in on the action. If the Winfield branch wins, WACO Junior/Senior High School Principal, Tim Bartels must wear a Wolves jersey and serve lunch to WMU students the following Monday. If the Wayland branch wins, WMU Middle/High School Principal Gaige Gill has to do the same for Warrior students while wearing a WACO jersey.

All donations must be brought to each community’s respective bank by Friday, September 8.
