The City of Keota is hosting their annual spring cleaning day to give citizens an opportunity to welcome spring with a clean slate. On Saturday, April 18th, Cox Sanitation will be going around town to pick up items that are left on curbs. Items to be picked up need to be set out by Friday, April 17th. The city also provided a list of items the company will not pick up including: liquid paint, TVs, household chemicals, anti-freeze, yard waste or tree waste, appliances, hazardous chemicals, and anything with nails sticking out of it. The company will only take five tires from households. Keota City Clerk Tomisha Hammes says as long as the landfills stay open, Cox Sanitation will continue with the clean up day as scheduled.
