While many sporting events have been cancelled within the last week, one bowling competition in Waterloo on Sunday was able to continue and a few Washington individuals hit the lanes for the 2020 Pepsi State Tournament hosted by the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) in Iowa.

Demon sophomore Ethan Zieglowsky had a productive day in the under 17 years of age boys division by placing third out of 34 participants with a six-game series score of 1,214 pins. The winner Zach Bianchi tallied 1,324. Zieglowsky received $210 in scholarship money and game scores included 248, 209, 148, 195, 204, and 210. Kaeden Zear competed in the U10 boys division and placed 17th. He posted a three-game series score of 340 pins including individual games of 137, 105, and 98.

Both individuals qualified for state after cracking the top two at districts last month in Oskaloosa.
