Pancake batter was mixed by two men in tuxedos at the Washington Fire Department’s annual fundraiser Wednesday. Those two men were Yale Jarvis and Karl Jones. Jones traveled from Arizona for the event. Jarvis said the pair began wearing tuxedos decades ago and have now mixed pancakes in three different buildings that served as Washington Fire stations, “It’s a brilliant idea of Karl’s and mine to bring a level of class to the firemen. We were mixers so we figured we would try that, and like he said we got some old tuxes and then we threw them away afterwards.” By the end of the day the tuxes were covered in flour and batter.

This was the first pancake day held in the fire station that was completed in the fall. The total attendance figures are being tallied.
