Iowa Mennonite School senior Blake Bontrager made a career out of making opposing batters look silly. On the mound, Bontrager racked up 135 strike outs in his time at IMS, sixth most in school history. His best season was his senior year, in which he stuck out 39 in 35 innings of work. The all-time record belongs to Reggie Hochstedler a 2008 IMS graduate who struck out 381 batters.

Bontrager also collected 13 wins on the hill during his time at IMS, sixth most in program history, tying him with Jeremy Yoder, class of 1992. Bontrager’s high water mark came his junior season with four victories. Reggie Hochstedler from the class of 2008 holds the all-time mark with 36 victories.

Most impressive is Bontrager’s durability. He worked 164 and two thirds innings in his IMS career, fourth most in school history. His biggest workload was his junior year with 46 innings thrown. Reggie Hochstedler from 2008 also holds this school record with 256 and a third innings spent on the mound.
