Brinton artifacts that have not yet been shown in public will be featured at an upcoming event. The Washington County Historical Society is hosting its annual dinner. Local historian Michael Zahs has been asked to provide a program on the Brintons and the future of the documentary Saving Brinton, “And I know people say, ‘Well, we’ve already heard about the Brintons.’ But I will be using documents that have not been shown in public before. I’ll be reading from their personal journals that have not been published. And I may show just a few slides or a short movie, or something. And we’ll talk a little about traveling with the film, and what is in the future for the documentary which continues just to be amazing.”
The Washington County Historical Society has been running for about 75 years. The group sponsors historical programs and is the caretaker of historical sites in the county including the Walnut School, the Dublin Store, and the Conger House. Reservations are needed for the dinner and can be made by calling 653-3125. The cost is $15 for the dinner and program at Marr Park on April 29th.
