During this National Volunteer Week, Washington County 4-H and Youth Services Coordinator Amy Green is thanking all of those who give their time and talents to 4-H. Charlie Stoutner with the Bows and Bullets 4-H Club wants to recognize a particular volunteer, “I’d like to thank Duane Sprouse. He’s someone that lives over in Keota. He’s a really good support of the Washington County Fair and sheep show. He’s the coordinator for the Fair Board for sheep. And he teaches me a lot about showing sheep.”
Ellie Todd with the Washington Go-Getters 4-H Club is also sharing gratitude, “Bridget Litwiller, she’s one of the helpers on County Council. And I recently took on a huge project of making a new wash rack for the horse department, and her constant encouragement and motivation really helped push me through the project. And I was able to get to every single step I need to just because she was there to push me along.”
Washington County 4-H volunteers help in a variety of ways including school enrichment programs, mentoring projects, being guest speakers at club meetings, lending a hand at the county fair, and by leading clubs.
