After a trouncing of KCII area foe Columbus last week, the Highland football team will look to keep that trend going when they hit the road to take on Alburnett.

One way or the other, someone will be taking their first loss of the season on Friday night.  Alburnett is coming off a 49-7 road win over Vinton-Shellsburg, while Highland beat Columbus at home 48-16.  Neither of these two teams throw the ball all that often, with neither team having any more than 12 pass attempts in last week’s games.

As for the running game, both teams look fairly even on paper.  Highland’s ground attack is going to be a force to be reckoned with, with five backs averaging 10 or more yards per carry against Columbus last week.  On the other side of things, the Pirates had two 100+ yard rushers, each scoring two touchdowns.

That match-up is happening Friday night at the Martin Sports Complex in Alburnett.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00.
