The Sigourney Savage softball team ended conference play with a dominant 14-2 record to take their second straight South Iowa Cedar League championship.  Jordan VanEe was outstanding in the pitching circle for the Savages all year long, but it was the bats that led them to victory. The Savage offense was unparalleled throughout conference play, hitting a whopping .432 as a team; the only team in the conference to even scratch the surface of the .400 range.  They were also the only team in the SICL to notch over 100 RBI, surpassing that fairly easily with 157.  They also scored more runs than they had hits; maybe those 13 home runs (also highest in the conference) had something to do with that.
