Two special elections will be happening in Washington County on August 28th, and the deadline to file nominations is this Friday.
Crawfordsville residents interested in running for a vacant council position on the Crawfordsville City Council may file for nomination. The petition filing deadline is at 5 p.m. this Friday and should include at least 10 signatures from Crawfordsville residents and should be filed with the Crawfordsville City Clerk. It must also be accompanied by an Affidavit of Candidacy.
The Mid-Prairie School District is holding a special election for a vacant school board seat as a result of a public petition filed with the school board secretary and the Washington County Auditor’s Office. The deadline to file a nomination petition is 4 p.m. Friday. Nomination papers are available at the Mid-Prairie Central Office and the Washington County Auditor’s Office. The petition must be filed with School Board Secretary Jeff Swartzentruber and contain at least 50 signatures from registered voters of the Mid-Prairie School District and must be accompanied by an Affidavit of Candidacy.
