After receiving seven bids, the Washington County Board of Supervisors awarded a contract for road work on 170th Street.

Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius explained what work will be done, “This is grading and resurfacing work on 170th Street, three miles between Keokuk County line and Dogwood Avenue.” The road will be graded, resurfaced, ditches cleaned, with a redone cross section. The lowest bid was from Cole Construction of Keosauqua at $326,946.05. The estimate for the work had been $392,000. The highest bid was just over $692,000. The work will be done this summer.
